 Writing!

When asked why one must write, most scientists and engineers think first of the need to communicate. Communication is so important that it is easy to overlook our other reasons for writing. One writes as part of his day to day work: to help him to remember, to observe, to think, to plane and to organize, as well as to communicate. Above all, writing helps in expressing one's thoughts. There is, however, no short cut to better writing. One learns most by practising this art, by considering the comments of his teachers and colleagues or the advice of others.

At Potsdam in August 1945 Germany was divided into four zones among the occupying Allies France, Britain, the Soviet Union and the USA. Berlin, located deep in the Russian sector that would later become the Deutsche Demokratische Republik (German Democratic Republic), was similarly divided into four. When the three western Allies introduced currency reform and the Deutschmark in 1948, the Soviets responded by closing all land and water routes to the former capital. In 1949 East and West Germany were founded. In 1961 the Wall was erected.

Since the Wall fell in 1989, many Germans still have the Wall in the Mind. But, especially since it was decided that the city would be the capital of the unified Germany, Berlin is rapidly changing into perhaps the most important and vibrant city in Europe.

Berlin isn't always a very panorama-genic place as large parts are presently under repair and reconstruction, including the new government buildings. Some of the attractive points in Berline are Kulturforum (A cluster of concert halls and museums) and Philharmonie (The home of the Berliner Philharmonic). For more you can visit the following site
