 The Fatiha

Of all the verses of the Quran that god has revealed, he chose " The Opening" ( al- Fatiha) to be repeated in each standing of every Ritual Prayer ( Salat). Whatever the ultimate wisdom may be, perhaps the significance of this resides in the humman need to be constantly reminded of the essential truths of life and that which gives it direction. The truth that al-Fatiha keeps in the forefront of one's mind are no less than the major themes of the Book it opens: Faith in the true and only merciful God; gratitude to the Sustainer of all being; certainty in the Day of Judgment; sincerity in the worship and seeking God's help; a resolve to adhere to the straight way of the rightly guided of all ages; and avoidance the rebellious, the trespassers, and the lost.

Travel( Paris)

In 52 B.C. a Roman settlement for fishermen (on the site where now stands the Notre Dame) expanded into a flourishing city, named Lutetia Parisiorum, that became the capital of France in 508. Louis IX made Paris the cultural centre of mediaeval western Europe when he founded the Sorbonne in 1253. The city is characterized by the broad boulevards built in the 19th century to make it easier for the police and army to control uproar. Until a few decades ago the Parisian painters, writers and philosophers dominated their fields worldwide.

Today the French government feels it necessary to protect the country from foreign -(that is American)- influences and Paris is only of great international importance because of its historic landmarks (like The Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triomphe) and its spectacular museums like the Louvre: once a royal palace, the Orsay Museum: 19th century art in a former train station; the high-tech Centre Pompidou for modern art; and the small but wonderful Rodin- and Picasso Museums. 15km south-west of Paris you'll find the impressive Versailles Palace and Park, that was built for Louis XIV.

The supermarket price war moved to a new battleground as four of Britain's biggest chins cut prices of pre-paid mobile phones. The opening salvo was fired by Tesco, which cut prices of phones from all four major networks from 79.99 to 49.99. Sainsbury's quickly followed suit, matching Tesco's low price for the two models it sells. Asda and Safeway went a step further, dropping the price of their pre-paid phones to 39.99
